The Opportunity

Our client is a leading personal injury law firm who are committed to providing the highest quality legal advice and are renowned for their forward-thinking, exceptional service, approachability and a culture focused on wellbeing and development.

This is a new role that has arisen due to the growth of the business and they are seeking a Senior Legal Assistant/ Law Clerk looking to take the next step in their career and work on a once in a lifetime case.

This is a permanent full-time role, with flexible working arrangements on offer including the possibility of a fully remote role for the right candidate.

About you

  • No class actions experience necessary;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Senior Legal Assistant/Law Clerk or similar;
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong organisational and time management skills;
  • An interest in project management of large scale litigation;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications; and
  • Experience within litigation in the Supreme Court.

 

About the role

Reporting to the Managing Principal and Associate Lawyers, this newly created role will be instrumental in supporting our team in two of Australia’s most high-profile class actions. You will work within a larger team setting, where you will be responsible for both project management tasks as well as providing exceptional personal injury legal support to the team.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Liaising with senior lawyers, counsel and external experts;
  • Providing legal support with administrative tasks, which include preparation of correspondence, Court documents, legal documents, and scheduling;
  • Providing project management support and assistance to the class action team and ensuring critical dates and key deadlines are met;
  • Leading more junior legal assistants in the class actions;
  • Collaborating with senior staff, legal professionals, and support staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services;
  • Refining and implementing efficient and effective tailored processes; and
  • Updating records, internal case notes, and preparing notes for clients on legal developments.
